Iowa Now reports that nearly all of the University of Iowa employees who work on the utility system have accepted an offer from ENGIE North America as part of the school’s new public private partnership.

The partnership will allow the university to invest $15 million per fiscal year in grants that will help support the University’s strategic plan and core missions.

The offer tended by ENGIE didn’t include a formal interview.  127 total employees accepted the job offer, which included all 33 student employees. 23 employees will remain with the university via reassignment or in their current position.

According to officials, financial close on the partnership is scheduled for Tuesday with the formal transfer of the utility management to ENGIE on March 11th.
