An Iowa City man who reportedly was upset at having a private parking sticker placed on his window is accused of retaliating by vandalizing another vehicle.

According to arrest reports, 37-year-old Joshua Robertson was in the parking alley at 10 South Clinton Street the afternoon of February 27th at 2:30. Surveillance video allegedly shows Robertson damaging a 2013 Lexus SUV.

Robertson proceeded to place numerous stickers throughout the body of the vehicle, pull the passenger mirror off, then damage the passenger door with blunt force.

Police located Robertson three days later, and he allegedly admitted to the act in retaliation for having a private parking sticker placed on his window.

The victim’s vehicle suffered over $1700 in damage, according to repair estimates.

Robertson was taken into custody Thursday morning, charged with Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison sentence of up to five years if convicted.
