The Johnson County Medical Examiner has identified the body found in the Iowa River on Tuesday as that of a University of Iowa student missing since November.

Deputies located a body in the Iowa River near 4745 Sand Rd Se, approximately two miles north of Hills just after 1pm. The body that was recovered did have an ID belonging to David Le, a University of Iowa student who disappeared on November 13th.

Due to the time between the disappearance and recovery of the body, it could not be immediately positively identified.

Thursday morning, the Sheriff’s Office announced that a positive ID was made, and added that the death is not considered suspicious nor involved foul play.

Full autopsy results will not be available for a few weeks.
