The fourth and last suspect in a scheme to steal about $1900 from Menards in Iowa City has been arrested.

37-year-old Christopher Thodos of Brown Deer Road in Coralville was booked into the Johnson County Jail Sunday night and charged with 3rd degree Burglary and 2nd degree Theft for his part in the incident from February of last year.

Police allege that Thodos, 37-year-old Timothy Messier of Sandusky Drive in Iowa City, 39-year-old Mackenzie Kile of Coralville, and 51-year-old Terry Lee Griffin, also of Sandusky Drive entered the store on February 19th between 7 and 8pm.

Surveillance video shows them loading up items in multiple carts throughout the store. The video shows each of the four concealing their cart with merchandise in the back of the store and leaving without making a purchase.

Later that night at approximately 11:50, after Menard’s had already closed, a group of subjects entered the back of the store, and were inside for about four minutes before returning with the concealed carts, containing approximately $1900 in merchandise.

If convicted on the charges, Thodos could be sentenced to up to ten years in prison.
