A North Liberty man was taken into custody early Wednesday for a January incident where drugs and paraphernalia were found at his residence by police investigating a 911 hang up.

According to police, they were dispatched to Holiday Lodge Road to investigate a 9-1-1 hang up on January 12th at approximately 3:50am. They allege that the odor of marijuana was emitting from the residence, with drug paraphernalia in plain view on the dining room table from outside the residence.

When officers got inside, they allegedly located multiple packages of green, plant-like material consistent with marijuana. Two bags containing additional plant material weighing 112 and 157 grams, and a mason jar with 30 grams of the substance were also reportedly discovered.

A warrant was issued for the resident, identified as 25-year-old Chance Miller; he was arrested and booked into the Johnson County Jail just after Midnight. He’s charged with a Class D controlled substance violation and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, and could be sentenced to ten years in prison if convicted.
