A University of Iowa student was arrested last week after wandering into a stranger’s home and falling asleep on their couch.

Iowa City Police were called to a residence on Bella Vista Place just after 3:15am on January 30th for a man who had walked into the house and passed out on the couch.

Police say 24-year-old Austin Long of Algona showed multiple signs of intoxication, had slurred speech and could not answer simple questions about where he was supposed to be or why he was in a stranger’s house.

Long registered a post-arrest breath test of .154 on a portable Breathalyzer test. He pleaded guilty to a Public Intoxication charge and was fined $100.
