Iowa City Community School District superintendent Stephen Murley has been announced as a finalist for a job in Wisconsin.

The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that he is one of two finalists to be superintendent of the Green Bay Area School District, that state’s fourth largest. He was superintendent of the Wausau school district before taking the Iowa City Job.

Murley is expected to formally visit the district February 19th or 20th, with final interviews shortly afterwards. If he’s chosen, Murley would start in the new position July 1.

Murley told the ICCSD in October that he would be leaving by summer 2021, maybe sooner depending on his job search. He told the Gazette he gave the district an early notice so that they had time to find his replacement.

Murley has been on the job in Iowa City since 2010.
