Man charged after assault on corrections officers at IMCC

A man housed at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center has been charged after breaking out of his cell and assaulting two officers.

According to reports, the incident occurred on January 7th at 11:25am in the M unit of the center on Highway 965. 22-year-old Davante Green is accused of breaking out of his cell, and while IMCC staff were attempting to detain him, Green assaulted two officers, punching them in the face.

The officers received minor injuries to their heads and faces as a result of the incident.

Green was sentenced on July 29th to 365 days in jail on Assault on persons in Certain Occupations with intent to cause injury charges in Jones County.

Green has now been charged with two counts of assault on persons in certain occupations causing bodily injury, aggravated misdemeanors punishable by a total of four years in prison if convicted.
