An area transient currently staying at Cross Park Place has been arrested after being found carrying weapons and in an intoxicated state.

68-year-old Ronal Rarey was reportedly in the lobby of his residence building Wednesday night at around 11:50 and allegedly was arguing with people there. He’s accused of threating to kill them.

Upon contact with Rarey, the officer allegedly noticed a strong odor of ingested alcohol, bloodshot watery eyes and slurred speech. A PBT was consented to, and Rarey was shown to have a blood-alcohol level of .245.

A search incident to arrest allegedly turned up brass knuckles in Rarey’s pocket.

Court records indicate this is the 90th charge against Rarey in recent years.

He was taken into custody and charged with carrying weapons and public intoxication. If convicted, Rarey could be sentenced to over two years in prison.
