An Iowa City man with multiple drug possession charges has been arrested again for a warrant stemming from an August search warrant.

According to police, 44-year-old Rodney Cornell of Davis Street faces a Class D controlled substance violation.

On the morning of August 16th, the Iowa City Police Department Street Crimes Action Team conducted a search warrant at Cornell’s residence. Officers located a baggie containing smaller baggies of marijuana, and Cornell allegedly admitted the cannabis was his.

Court records show that Cornell has over half a dozen convictions for possession of controlled substances dating back to the 1990s.

If convicted on the most recent charge, Cornell could be sentenced to a maximum five years in prison.
