Allegedly headbutting another man at a Coralville motel, and possibly breaking his nose in the process, led to a Cedar Rapids man’s arrest overnight.
Coralville Police were called to the Days Inn on Hayden Fry Way just after 1:45 Sunday morning for a subject assaulting people in a hallway. The alleged victim told investigators
39-year-old Alexis Kuberski of 12th Street Northwest had headbutted him and punched him in the face after he stood between Kuberski and another subject. The man was bleeding from the nose, and thought Kuberski may have broken it.
A witness tried to call 9-1-1, but Kuberski allegedly slapped the phone out of the woman’s hand, disconnecting her from the dispatcher.
Kuberski was located inside another hotel’s restroom. He was arrested and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury and Obstructing Emergency Communications. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of 13 months in jail.
