An Altoona man was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with sexual abuse stemming from an incident in May of 2018 when he allegedly assaulted a co-worker.

According to police, now-33-year-old Momoh Foko of 25th Avenue Southwest was an employee at the Rise Apartments on South Linn Street on May 31st, 2018. Reportedly, a co-worker wasn’t feeling well that day and decided to lay down on the upper floor of the site. Foko allegedly decided to check on the woman, and when he did, is accused of pulling down her pants, placing the weight of his body on top of hers, held her arm to keep her from getting away, and performed sex acts on her.

The woman reported that she told Foko to get off her, and stated that at no time did she consent to Foko’s actions.

Once Foko completed the act, the woman got up and ran away, reporting what happened to other co-workers. She had a sex-abuse examination where a rape kit was collected. Authorities were able to obtain DNA from Foko, and his DNA matched what was collected in the kit. Foko allegedly denied under Miranda to ever touching the woman or having sex with her although his DNA was found on the victim.

Foko was taken into custody Thursday and charged with 3rd degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony punishable by a prison term not exceeding ten years if convicted.
