An Albion Iowa man has been taken into custody after allegedly jumping an Iowa City person he was staying with and taking his car.
According to police, 55-year-old Fred Fehrmann of East Chicago Street in Albion was staying at a friend’s residence in the Thatcher Mobile Home Park on South Riverside Drive for a few nights. On the afternoon of November 5th, Fehrmann is accused of starting an argument with the man, jumping him, grabbing the man’s car keys, and leaving the property with the man’s vehicle.
The man reported the assault and filed a missing vehicle report two days later, and according to police still had red marks visible on his forehead and right shoulder.
A warrant was issued, and Fehrmann was arrested early Thursday. He’s been charged with assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to one year if convicted.
The victim requested a no-contact order between the two.
