Threatening the protected party in a no-contact order was bad enough for an Iowa City man, but doing it from the Johnson County Jail on a recorded line made it that much easier for him to be charged in the case.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, 41-year-old Michael Shrock of Catskill Court called the victim from a recorded line at the jail just after 3:45pm on December 9th. Shrock can be heard on the recording making threats of physical violence against the victim. The number Shrock dialed corresponds with the victim’s phone number.
Shrock is charged with 2nd Degree Harassment and a No-Contact Order Violation. If convicted, he faces up to an additional year in jail.
Shrock is currently in jail on a Domestic Abuse Assault – 2nd Offense charge.
