A Washington County man faces charges that he threatened to kill a woman in North Liberty.
The alleged incident happened just after 1:15am on October 21st. North Liberty Police say the woman had fled the residence of 49-year-old Brian Johnson after he assaulted her two days earlier. The two were living together in Brighton at the time, and had been in an intimate relationship since March.
The woman sought refuge at a residence in the Holiday Lodge manufactured housing community, but Johnson allegedly contacted her, saying he was going to kill her.
Investigators noticed the woman still had injuries from the earlier assault, and believed Johnson would be able to carry out his alleged threat.
Johnson was booked into the Johnson County Jail at 2:30 Friday afternoon and charged with 1st Degree Harassment, an Aggravated Misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of two years in prison. He has a previous conviction on the same charge from 2005.
