Rod Sullivan has been named the new chair of the Johnson County Board of Supervisors.

The 53-year-old Sullivan was chosen unanimously by his fellow supervisors during a meeting Thursday morning. He’s the longest-serving supervisor on the board, having served since 2004. He said Thursday he is likely to seek another term.

According to the county web site, Sullivan cites as his accomplishments the Community ID program, the addition of rural emergency management warning sirens, and the Free Tax Help program, among others.
