A trial date has been set for a Solon man accused of sexually abusing two girls.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, 48-year-old Robert Egesdal of Highway 1 Northeast began a pattern of sexually assaulting a young girl at his residence starting in 2014 when she was 12. The alleged abuse continued through April of 2019.

The alleged victim told investigators that she resisted Egesdal’s advances on numerous occasions, but he persisted and forced himself on her multiple times.

The alleged assaults happened when Egesdal was watching the girl while her mother was at work.

A relative of Egesdal’s also told investigators that he inappropriately touched her at his residence on June 12th. The girl said she told him “no” multiple times, but he continued the abuse.

Egesdal is charged with five counts of 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse and one count of Incest. On Friday, Judge Paul Miller set a trial date for March 17th. A case management conference is set for February 14th.

If convicted on all counts, Egesdal faces a maximum of 55 years in prison.
