Allegedly driving drunk with his 11-year-old daughter in the car has led to a Cedar Rapids man’s arrest.

North Liberty Police pulled over 50-year-old Craig Burke of Wilson Avenue Drive Southwest just before 7:30 Sunday night near the corner of Penn Street and Kansas Avenue. Burke had been driving with a brake light out.

Investigators say Burke smelled overwhelmingly of ingested alcohol, showed signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking. An open 30-pack of beer was found in the back seat, with empty beer cans strewn on the passenger side floor near where his 11-year-old daughter was sitting.

Burke refused field sobriety and breath testing. He was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated and Child Endangerment. If convicted of both charges, he faces a maximum of three years in prison.
