US Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer’s fish fry a week from Saturday is attracting eight Democratic presidential hopefuls.
The event, to take place at Hawkeye Downs from 1:15 to 4pm, will feature senators Amy Klobachur, Cory Booker, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren, with former Texas representative Beto O’Rourke, South Bend mayor Pete Buttegieg and former Vice President Joe Biden.
The Fish Fry is sponsored by several union political action committees, representing the IBEW, Boilermakers, Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, Operating Engineers, and Plumbers and Pipefitters.
Each candidate will take questions on their visions for working people in Iowa. Tickets for the event are available at abbeyfinkenauer.com/fishfry.
Finkenauer’s event comes a day after the Liberty and Justice Celebration Dinner at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, featuring the candidates appearing at the fish fry, as well as Michael Bennet, Steve Bullock, Julian Castro, John Delaney, and Andrew Yang. Several candidates will also be at the Economic Freedom Presidential Town Hall at Drake University Saturday morning.
