A southern Iowa man has been arrested by Iowa City Police for the second time in less than a week, on each occasion only giving his address when asked simple questions.

Arrest records indicate 19-year-old Darius Pipkins of Knoxville was trying to enter random cars and a house on the 400 block of Church Street just before 2am Saturday morning. Arriving officers found Pipkins with a group of friends who were trying to get him home. When asked simple questions, including his name, he would only reply with his home address.

Police say a short time later Pipkins ran south on Court Street, then through a yard before being apprehended. He provided a post-arrest BAC of .252.

Pipkins was also arrested just after midnight on October 13th after the ICPD responded to the Capitol Street parking ramp for a highly intoxicated male. Police say Pipkins responded to questions about what city he was in, where his family was, where he was staying, where he currently was and who the president is by giving his address, 410 West Robinson Street, just as with the Saturday arrest.

When asked for his ID, Pipkins tried to hand an officer money. Officers then asked Pipkins to contact a friend or family member, and he responded by showing his wallet and suggesting it was his phone.

Pipkins was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65.
