A Boone Iowa man was taken into custody for the alleged brutal beating of a man who tried to screw him on a drug deal.
According to police, 23-year-old Troy Borsh had agreed to a cocaine purchase at 1:45am Friday. He reportedly drove from Pints bar to the 900 block of College Street, where the seller got into his car. The man allegedly took the $200 agreed to by Borsh and took off running without providing the drugs.
Borsh chased the man, tackling him to the ground. A witness says that Borsh then then allegedly pulled the man’s hair and punched him over and over again. By the time police arrived, they saw Borsh standing over the helpless man. The man was reportedly barely conscious, surrounded by blood and suffering a head injury. When the officer interviewed Borsh, he allegedly laughed when talking about holding the man up by his hair.
The injured man was found in possession of Borsh’s $200. Officers tested Borsh for alcohol content, and he blew a .237 on a PBT and .225 on Datamaster
Borsh was arrested and charged with Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury and first offense OWI. If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to up to eleven years in prison.
