A plea hearing has been set for a suspect in an armed robbery at Coral Ridge Mall.

On Friday Judge Kevin McKeever set a January 3rd date for 19-year-old John Greb of Wind Ridge Drive to enter a plea. Greb is facing charges of 1st Degree Robbery, Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury, Interference with Official Acts and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia stemming from an incident last spring.

Coralville Police say Greb used a knife to assault and injure a security guard during a robbery attempt at Target just before 5:30pm on April 20th.

Greb was eventually apprehended on the nearby pedestrian tunnel under Interstate 80 after a brief foot chase. He was covered in blood, and was found in possession of a bloody knife. A search of Greb’s person turned up several baggies containing Adderall, as well as a pipe with residue believed to be used for smoking marijuana.

If convicted on all charges relating to the robbery, Greb faces a maximum of over 30 years in prison.
