A resident of Crosspark Place was arrested Monday afternoon after damaging the building and threatening employees.
According to police, 51-year-old Charles Coln approached a female employee and told her to raise her shirt for him. He was asked to leave the alcohol in his possession outside the facility as per resident rules, and he allegedly became belligerent.
Coln is accused of taking an empty vodka bottle and smashing it against a double pane window in front of the facility. The window, valued at $4000, broke from the force of the throw. When staff and another resident went inside to avoid Coln, he attempted to get inside the locked facility, banging on the door and allegedly saying he was going to kill them.
When police arrived, they noted Coln had bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, unsteady balance, had soiled his clothes and smelled of urine and alcohol. When officers apprehended Coln, he allegedly told them that had to let him go because he was not going to be held in jail for any reason. Coln refused a PBT.
Coln was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and first-degree harassment. If convicted on the charges, he could be sentenced to a maximum of seven years in prison.
