More details have been released about a shots fired incident Saturday morning near Mercer Park.
According to an Iowa City Police news release, at approximately 4:47 a.m. officers responded to the area of 1202 Arthur St for reports of shots fired. Dispatch received two calls regarding a series of five shots in the area. Responding officers located shell casings in the 2700 block of Wayne Avenue, but were unable to gather any additional information from witnesses.

Nearby residents with security cameras are asked to review their recordings and contact the ICPD at 319-356-5276 with any potential footage or information.

Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information about this incident that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers online at iccrimestoppers.org or by phone at 358-TIPS (8477). All calls are held in strict confidence and anonymity is guaranteed. Individuals providing information do not have to reveal their identity to collect a reward.

The reports come from the same area where two other shots fired incidents were reported in June.
Just after 5:45pm on June 13th a 15-year-old allegedly fired shots from one car towards another car on the 1200 block of Baker Street. The juvenile was charged with Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon and Reckless Use of a Firearm.

The second report came at 3:13 a.m. on June 17th when emergency calls came in regarding multiple gunshots heard near the intersection of Wayne and Arthur Streets.
