Iowa City Police are looking for a dog that bit a pedestrian early Friday morning.
According to the information provided to Iowa City Animal Services, the bite occurred on the sidewalk on Burlington Street between Van Buren and Johnson Streets. The victim was walking and stopped to pet the dog, who was being walked by its owner. The dog is described as a black and tan German Shephard with erect ears being walked by a white male. The bite occurred at 1:30am Friday.
Iowa City Animal Services is asking if anyone has details on the dog. Animal Services needs to verify the dog is current on its rabies vaccination, which could keep the victim from having to go through the rabies shot series.
