A Coralville man attempting to sell his plasma faces a theft charge after allegedly stealing a Chromebook from the plasma center’s waiting room.

Iowa City Police say 43-year-old Paris Alexander of Boston Way entered Biotest on South Gilbert Street just before 2:45 Thursday afternoon. While he was waiting to give plasma, he signed in under his own name and was photographed.  Surveillance video captured Alexander taking a Samsung Chromebook 3 from a display table in the waiting room. The Chromebook is valued at $160.

Alexander then allegedly concealed the Chromebook in a black shoulder bag and left the building. He was located a short time later at the bus stop at the corner of Clinton and Washington Streets, where the stolen Chromebook was found in his bag. Alexander was arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Theft, an Aggravated Misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of two years in prison.
