An Iowa City woman who has a no contact order against her claimed that texts sent to the protected party were done in her sleep.

Police say that on Tuesday, 51-year-old Kelly Jordan of 3rd Avenue sent three texts to the victim, who showed them to authorities. The victim did not answer the texts.

When contacted, Jordan allegedly denied sending the texts, but then said they might have been done in their sleep. She said if she did send a text, it would have said something like “Why are you treating me like this?” and authorities say one of the texts did say that.

Jordan was charged with violation of a no-contact order and booked Thursday morning.  A contempt hearing is scheduled for Friday July 5th.
