ICPD confiscates two knives from Jr. High student after threat

Iowa City Police have confiscated two knives from a junior high student after a threat was allegedly made against the school.
According to a letter sent to parents of students at Southeast Junior High, administrators were made aware on Wednesday of a threat towards the school made by a pair of students. Staff investigated the threat and, in the process, conficated two knives from one of the students.
Administrators immediately contacted Iowa City Police, who responded to the school to investigate. They determined there was no immediate threat to the school.
The investigation continues, and district officials say the appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken.
