An Urbandale man just one day shy of his 21st birthday was arrested by Iowa City police early Friday after flipping one of them off.

Arrest records indicate that 20-year-old Cole Billings of Plum Drive walked across the intersection of Dubuque and Iowa streets at about 1:30am, forcing an officer to stop. When the officer honked his horn, Billings allegedly gave him the middle finger and then ran when the officer attempted to speak with him.

Upon capture, police say Billings had bloodshot watery eyes, impaired balance, smelled of alcohol and showed impairment on field tests. He refused a PBT.

A subsequent search of his person turned up an ID card belonging to another person over the age of 21.

Billings was taken into custody and charged with illegal possession of a license or ID card, interference with official acts, and public intoxication. If convicted on all charges, he could be sentenced to 14 months in prison.
