Students at Clear Creek Amana, know you’re being led by the person his peers consider the best in the state.
The School Administrators of Iowa on Thursday announced Mark Moody, principal at CCA High School, has been named Secondary Principal of the Year. He was nominated by his peers and selected by a committee of secondary school principals.
In a statement, Moody said he was humbled by the award but pushed praise onto his staff and family, saying “you are only as good as the people you are surrounded by.”
SAI executive director Roark Horn said Moody is able to “affect positive change in ways that everyone can support,” calling that the “rarest of leadership abilities.”
Moody, a one-time English teacher, has been principal at CCA since 2010. He’ll be recognized at a governor’s awards ceremony in May and at the association’s annual conference in July.
