Police say a North Liberty woman had an extremely high blood alcohol concentration when she tried to pick-up her children from school last week.

An arrest report indicates an ambulance was sent to Solon Intermediate School about 3:30 p.m. Friday after a woman there was feeling dizzy. After evaluating Alissa Stacey, 39, of Hiland View Northeast, medical personnel called for officers to come to the school because they determined she was not fit to drive.

A responding deputy from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office say he noticed Stacey was “very intoxicated” and she was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Deputies followed and had Stacey submit a preliminary breath test at the hospital; that test showed her blood alcohol concentration to be .282, more than three times the legal limit to drive.

She refused further testing.

Stacey faces one count of 1st Offense Operating While Intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor carrying up to one year in jail.
