IC Drug Bust Yields 10 Pounds of Marijuana, Over $20,000 in Cash

A recent Iowa City drug bust yielded ten pounds of marijuana and over $20,000 in cash.

Arrest records released Friday show that members of the Johnson County Drug Task Force served a warrant at 1102 East Davenport Street on the afternoon of March 1^st. Investigators discovered over ten pounds of marijuana and over $20,500 in cash. Most of the money was found in a basement safe.

Officers also seized digital scales, drug paraphernalia and several other items used in the sale of marijuana.

A resident of the home, identified as 50-year-old Gerald Lawrence Gerard, is charged with a Controlled Substance Violation and a Drug Tax Stamp Violation. If convicted he faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
