University of Iowa soccer alum Cloe Lacasse scored the game-tying goal in her first Olympic start as Team Canada defeated New Zealand 2-1 on Friday in France.
Lacasse was Iowa’s leading point scorer all four years of her Hawkeye career…from 2011 to 2014.
The Canadian team is playing without head coach Bev Priesman, who was removed from her position before Friday’s game after she was implicated in a scandal involving drones allegedly recording New Zealand’s practices.
Up next, Canada faces host France Sunday afternoon at 2:00 Central.
