Former University of Iowa pitcher Ty Langenberg started off shaky, but calmed down to throw five innings of four-hit ball to earn the win in his home debut for the Cedar Rapids Kernels 6-4 Saturday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Langenberg gave up two earned runs on three hits in the first inning, but the Hawkeye alum settled down and allowed just one more hit over the next four innings. When all was said and done, Langenberg threw 91 pitches…including 54 strikes…while striking out seven and walking just one.

We’ll talk more Hawkeye sports…including Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever’s performance on Sunday against the Chicago Sky… Monday morning at 9 on the Hawkfanatic.com segment right here on The Mighty 1630 KCJJ.
