An Iowa man stopped in North Liberty for a traffic violation faces several charges after drugs were reportedly found in his vehicle.

Officers stopped 31-year-old Dustin Jones of Parnell near the intersection of Lininger Lane and Alexander Way Thursday just before 1am for a registration violation. While speaking with Jones, the officer allegedly observed a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine on the floorboard.

A subsequent search of the vehicle reportedly turned up multiple baggies with meth residue and an additional baggie of meth.  Another officer allegedly found another baggie containing hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Three glass pipes with burnt meth residue were also allegedly discovered.

Jones was arrested and faces two controlled substance violations, and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while barred. If convicted on all charges, he could be sentenced to over 12 years in prison.
