A Des Moines woman has been arrested after allegedly shoplifting from a Coralville store earlier this spring.

According to the criminal complaint, 21-year-old Georgia Page was at the Walmart on Commerce Drive during the noon hour on April 28th. Surveillance footage reportedly showed her walking out of the west exit with a cartful of items, passing all points of sale without making an attempt to purchase the merchandise.

Loss Prevention associates were able to stop Page and recovered the items.  She got into a vehicle and left before police arrived.  A run of the plate showed that the vehicle belonged to Page.

Cost of the items Page attempted to take exceeded $700.

A warrant for her arrest was issued on May 29th; she was served on Thursday and charged with 4th degree Theft, a serious misdemeanor.  Her initial court appearance was waived, and she was released on her own recognizance pending arraignment.
