Firefighters extinguished a blaze at a Coralville daycare Friday morning.
The Coralville Fire Department responded to a fire at Handicare Daycare on 9th Street at approximately 9:15 a.m. The fire, located in a bathroom, was quickly contained and extinguished by the fire department.
The daycare sustained minor smoke and water damage on the first floor. All staff and children followed their well-practiced evacuation plan and escaped without any injuries.
Firefighters remained on the scene until about 10:30. The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental, though it remains under investigation. The estimated damage is around $10,000.
