A West Branch resident is one of seven men arrested in a Cedar Rapids Police sting for allegedly trying to entice a minor.

The CRPD reports recently completing an undercover operation targeting subjects attempting to engage in sexual relations with a person they believed to be a minor.  The operation centered on individuals utilizing social networking applications to meet with a person they had reason to believe was under the age of 16.  In cooperation with the Linn County Attorney’s Office, seven subjects have been charged and taken into custody.  An eighth subject’s arrest is forthcoming.

The suspects include 29-year-old Aaron Dicken of West Branch, 48-year-old Seaton Smith of Hampton, and five Cedar Rapids men including 33-year-old Coady Tallman, 42-year-old Adam Darling, 43-year-old Kennth Ruby, 55-year-old David Wren Jr, and 50-year-old Scott Greenman.

All seven men are charged with Enticing a Minor, with Tallman, Ruby, and Dicken also facing sex offender violations. Tallman and Greenman are also accused of distributing obscene material to a minor, with Greenman also charged with Interference With Official Acts.
