An area transient was taken into custody after allegedly trying to sell a blunt to a woman at a convenience store.

Police say 36-year-old Todd Brodie was at the South Gilbert Street Kum & Go at 11pm Monday when cameras showed he was in the bathroom for approximately ten minutes. He then walked out and allegedly handed a woman a Swisher Sweet cigar packed with marijuana. He asked her if she had any money for the blunt, then left the store.

Staff called police to report the incident, and Brodie was found the next morning outside the Muscatine Avenue Kum & Go.  In a search incident to arrest, he was allegedly found with a quantity of marijuana in a plastic bag.

Brodie was charged with third offense marijuana possession, a Class D Felony punishable by a maximum five-year prison term if convicted.
