A suspect in a New Year’s Eve riot on the Ped Mall has reached a plea deal with prosecutors.
Online court records show 23-year-old Eugina Mishark of Ames entered a guilty plea on Monday. No further details about the plea deal, including a sentencing date, have been released.
Mishark was initially charged with Participating in a Riot. Iowa City Police say Mishark, 19-year-old Taylor Robinson and 21-year-old Demarcus Robertson-Ray…both of Cedar Rapids…willingly involved themselves in a large fight with at least four other people outside DC’s on South Dubuque Street just after 11:45 on the night of December 31st. Multiple people were injured…some requiring hospitalization.
Robertson-Ray pleaded guilty to two counts of Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury earlier this year and was given two five-year prison sentences. Robinson…who is charged with Participating in  Riot… has a case management conference set for June 17th.
