A Riverside man wanted on different warrants was taken into custody over the weekend.

34-year-old Jamarius Bell was wanted for failing to appear at a January case management conference on a marijuana possession charge, and for two other incidents.

Police say on September 3rd last year, a search warrant was executed at his residence, which at the time was on Westgate Street in Iowa City.  Officers allegedly located a .22 caliber Savage Rifle that had been reported stolen out of Washington County that May.  Bell reportedly admitted the weapon was his.

On January 29th of this year, Bell allegedly jumped on a vehicle on Westgate Street at approximately 11:30pm.  The vehicle was in motion at the time, and Bell punched the windshield, causing it to break. It was estimated it would cost about $600 to replace the vehicle’s windshield.

Bell was arrested Saturday afternoon and faces charges of Marijuana Possession, Trafficking in Stolen Weapons, and 4th degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted on all counts, Bell could be sentenced to up to seven years in prison.
