An Iowa City man faces a felony charge after allegedly brandishing a firearm in a downtown Iowa City bar early Sunday morning.

According to the arrest report, 26 year-old Authur Brown of Ellis Avenue allegedly initiated a fight at the Fieldhouse Bar at around 1am.  During the fight, Brown reportedly pulled a firearm from his sweatshirt pocket. Bystanders were able to wrestle the weapon away from Brown before it was fired.

As officers were arresting Brown, it was found that he has multiple convictions for domestic abuse and as such is ineligible to possess a firearm.

Brown was charged with Dominion or Control of a Firearm by a Felon and Person Ineligible to Carry Weapons. If convicted on both counts, Brown could be sentenced to up to six years in prison.
