Cedar Rapids man faces prison time after vandalism incident

A Cedar Rapids man faces prison time after a window-smashing spree last month.

KCRG TV reports surveillance video shows Eugene Schmickle intentionally throwing rocks through the windows of multiple buildings in the Cedar Rapids downtown area on April 25th.Those buildings include the Paramount Theater, First Presbyterian Church, and Higley Building.

Total damage is estimated at over $13,000.

Schmickle was charged with three counts of 2nd degree Criminal Mischief and could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
