A Kalona man was arrested Friday morning for violating a no-contact order when he allegedly disabled the protected party’s vehicle.

The incident reportedly occurred in the parking lot of Fin and Feather on Highway 1 West  at 10:30am.  44-year-old Lawrence Bohnenkamp of 7th Street had allegedly called dispatch to report a stolen vehicle traveling westbound from Naples Avenue.  He then reported that the vehicle parked in front of the outdoor  equipment store.

Bohnenkamp reportedly approached the parked vehicle, with the protected party inside. He allegedly opened the hood, pulled the fuses from the vehicle and fled the area in the vehicle he arrived in.

Police took Bohnenkamp into custody and charged him with contempt for violating the no-contact order, a simple misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to 30 days if convicted.
