An Oxford man was arrested early Saturday after reportedly being found in a parked vehicle with a weapon while intoxicated.

According to the arrest report, a Johnson County deputy observed 25-year-old Owen Baldridge parked in a closed business parking lot on the 500 block of State Street in Tiffin at around 2:15am.  As the deputy pulled up to the vehicle, Baldridge and the passenger switched seats.  He reportedly had the odor of ingested alcohol, and had a bar stamp on his hand.

Baldridge initially denied driving, but the passenger allegedly stated that Baldridge had been behind the wheel.  He then reportedly admitted to drinking prior to driving.  Baldridge had bloodshot watery eyes and performed poorly on field testing.  A Datamaster test showed his BAC at .117 percent.

A handgun was reportedly seen in plain view within reach of Baldridge under the driver’s seat by the deputy.  Baldridge admitted the weapon, a Sig Sauer, was his.

He was charged with 2nd offense OWI and Possession of Dangerous Weapons while Intoxicated. If convicted on both counts, he could spend up to three years in jail.
